Car accidents can increase during tourist season

As the summer vacation season approaches on the United States mainland, many vacationers will set their sights on the great state of Hawaii. The state is renowned for its beautiful beaches and world-class restaurants and entertainment. The wonderful climate here allows visitors and residents alike to enjoy a multitude of outdoor activities year-round. However, this can also mean increased traffic on roadways across the state. The sudden influx of traffic can cause more car accidents.

Recently, an accident involving a motorcycle and a car claimed the life of a Waimea man. The accident happened at night on Kawaihae Road. According to reports, a motorcyclist was heading east and crossed the center line of the road. Reports say the motorcyclist collided head-on with a westbound Ford sedan.

Tragically, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, police say. The driver of the sedan suffered injuries not considered life-threatening, according to authorities. Police are conducting an investigation into the accident and say that speed may have been a factor in the crash.

Serious crashes such as this seem to be happening more frequently across the state of Hawaii. As roadways become more and more crowded, just going for a short drive can end in a tragic accident. Hawaii residents who have been injured or suffered the loss of a loved one due to the negligence of another in car accidents may be able to take legal action. A successful claim could result in a substantial monetary award to help victims and families cope with such a tragic experience.
