Motorcycle accidents: Oahu crash claims the life of motorcyclist

For many people, motorcycles are not only a fun way to travel, but also a way of life. Riding motorcycles is a popular form of recreation in Hawaii, and here there are no shortage of scenic, beautiful roadways for motorcyclists to enjoy. However, roads across the state are becoming increasingly congested with traffic and downright dangerous. Because of this, motorcycle accidents are on the rise.

Car accidents: Driver still at-large after fleeing crash scene

One of the few guarantees in life is that accidents are going to happen. These days, car accidents are happening more frequently as roadways across Hawaii become increasingly crowded. Any automobile accident is a stressful experience, but when the at-fault driver flees the scene, the experience can quickly turn traumatic.

Victims injured by negligence may file a premises liability claim

In Hawaii and across the United States, all public places are required to be safe for visitors. Not many people are aware, but premises liability laws can also apply to private properties such as residences. If hazards are present, the hazards must be removed or warning needs to be provided. When the negligence of property owners contributes to injuries, victims have the right to pursue damages. The most common types of premises liability cases involve falls caused by uneven footing, slippery floors or foreign objects.

Did another driver's negligence cause you to suffer injury?

Hawaii roadways, like most others in the nation, are often busy, traffic-laden places. If you've ever sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic for 20 minutes or more, you understand how frustrating that can be. Not only do high-traffic areas often cause travel delays and driver frustration, the more cars on the road at a time, the higher the risk for collision as well.

Crosswalk safety is crucial in preventing pedestrian accidents

Pedestrian safety has become a point of emphasis in recent years in Hawaii. Unfortunately, this has been a deadly year on roadways across the state. According to data provided by the Hawaii Department of Transportation, pedestrian accidents have led to 36 deaths so far this year. With overcrowded roads becoming the norm, motorists and pedestrians are urged to always use extreme caution when traveling.

In Hawaii, premises liability laws provide protection

In life, accidents are going to happen when least expected. Although some accidents are severe and can cause great harm, the most accidents are minor and nothing more than inconveniences. In the state of Hawaii, the vast majority of stores, restaurants and other public places are very safe and secure. Established premises liability laws make it mandatory for owners and operators of public places to provide a safe environment for all who legally visit.

Police investigating 2 hit-and-run pedestrian accidents

Police in Hawaii are asking for the help of the public after two separate hit-and-run crashes killed one pedestrian and critically injured another. The pedestrian accidents occurred near Honolulu. The first accident happened during the morning hours along Farrington Highway. According to reports, a man was struck by a vehicle while walking his dog. Tragically, the pedestrian was killed and the driver fled the scene, police say.

This year has seen a sharp increase in pedestrian accidents

In recent years, pedestrian safety has become a major concern in Hawaii. Many Hawaii residents choose walking as a main source of transportation and recreation. Unfortunately, there has been a sharp increase in pedestrian accidents in recent years as roads across the state become more and more crowded. This year alone, there have been almost 100 traffic related deaths in Hawaii.

Drivers should be attentive at all times to avoid car accidents

Driving requires focus and undivided attention at all times. As roadways across Hawaii become more and more crowded, losing focus behind the wheel for just a split second can result in a tragic accident. Unfortunately, car accidents are one of the leading causes of death and injury in the state of Hawaii and across the country. A woman is now facing serious charges after a fatal crash that killed two people.
