Woman files premises liability claim against Walmart

Hawaii is one of the top tourist destinations in the world. People from across the globe flock to this tropical paradise to enjoy the pristine beaches and amazing natural beauty. Hawaii is also home to first-class shopping and dining. All who visit these establishments are protected by premises liability laws. Despite these laws, too many people are injured every year in Hawaii due to hazardous conditions in public places.

A woman in another state has filed a lawsuit after she allegedly fell and suffered injuries while she was visiting a Walmart store. According to the lawsuit, the woman was shopping in the store and encountered a liquid that had been left on the floor. Allegedly, the liquid substance caused the woman to slip and fall, suffering injuries.

The woman claims she suffered injuries to her knee, lower back and neck, as well as injuries to her muscles and nerves. The plaintiff seeks to hold Walmart responsible over claims that the store owners failed to clean the liquid from the floor and failed to provide warning signs to customers. She seeks damages in excess of $50,000.

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for routine maintenance to be neglected inside public establishments. The owners of public places have an obligation to provide a safe environment for customers. Those in Hawaii who suffer injuries due to the negligence of business or property owners may have grounds to take legal action. By filing a premises liability claim, victims could receive much-needed financial relief that could be used to replace lost wages and cover any documented monetary losses.
